Watch Love Won Out on God TV
January 21, 2009News from Melissa Fryrear, Director Gender Issues Department, Focus on the Family about the Love Won Out on God TV:
Focus on the Family's Love Won Out conference on homosexuality will be broadcast globally by the Christian network God TV starting Friday, Jan. 16 starting with the session, "Understanding Pro-Gay Theology." Other conference presentations will be aired for U.S. audiences on Jan. 23, 24, 25, and 30 on Channel 365 of DIRECTV, as well as online at www.god.tv/stream. GOD TV will also later provide the programs via video on demand at www.god.tv/god.
God TV reaches about 125 million homes across the U.S., Europe, Africa and Asia - countries that are home to people who have contacted Focus on the Family with questions on homosexuality. "Homosexuality affects men and women from different countries and cultures," said Melissa Fryrear, director of Focus' gender issues department. "Yet the Bible's message to them remains the same: change is possible for those who struggle with unwanted same-sex attraction."
Love Won Out's speakers - many of whom, like Fryrear, used to self-identify as gay or lesbian - present this message of hope through Scripture, research and by sharing their own stories of change. The speakers' unflinching honesty in relating the confusions, struggles and joys that accompany the journey out of homosexuality help ensure the tone of the conference - and the message that will be broadcast to the world through God TV - is respectful and compassionate.
GOD TV was founded in the UK in 1995 by Christian media pioneers Rory & Wendy Alec and in 13 short years has become a global phenomenon. The only Christian broadcaster to transmit globally from Jerusalem, GOD TV's powerful signal is carried via multiple satellites providing free viewing to almost half a billion people 24-hours-a-day.
