August Update
PFOX successfully exhibited at the Arlington County Fair (Virginia) this month. Unlike last year, none of our ex-gay volunteers were assaulted, although we had to put up with hateful remarks and stigma by gays who refused to acknowledge tolerance for people who are different from them. As one proud gay man shouted at us, "I don't have to show tolerance!" Another threw a mini-fit and called PFOX a hate group, while shouting that we still looked "gay." Gay organizations must start telling their members to stop hating ex-gays. There will be no peace until then. The bullying tactics and name calling did not stop us from handing out our brochures and answering questions from the public, especially the teens who have never seen our kind of information before. Gay organizations have had exhibit booths for many years and ex-gays are now starting to demand the same access to the public. Won't you help sponsor the next PFOX exhibit booth? Hate won't stop our public outreach. Please consider a gift of any size to help out by donating to PFOX online.
